Qaidy Rasyid Hidayat
Software Engineering at IDN

Today, I woke up as usual at around 4 AM. After that, I immediately performed the Fajr prayer, followed by morning dhikr and a halaqah session with my friends. Since I had already done my cooking duty yesterday, I was free today. So without overthinking, I decided to go back to sleep.

When I woke up again, I took a shower and then had breakfast. The menu was the same as the previous days eggs and rice. Even though it was repetitive, I just stayed grateful for it.

At 9 AM, our learning activities (KBM) started. The first class was English until 10:45 AM, followed by an IT class. In IT today, I learned about the fundamentals of Dart. The class ended around 11:50 AM, and as usual, we performed the Dhuhr prayer afterward.

After Dhuhr, we were given an assignment. This time, instead of making a vlog, we were asked to take photos based on a specific color. My group got the color yellow. Since there were six people in our group, Bintang suggested splitting into two teams of three.

I teamed up with Fatah and Ahza, while Bintang, Mumtaz, and Ibra went in a different direction. The three of us decided to walk toward the Circle K we had passed on our first day in Vietnam. Along the way, we started “hunting” for yellow objects. We actually found quite a lot, mostly signs and billboards.

When we arrived at Circle K, we also bought some snacks for lunch. I got two onigiri that were on discount for 29,000 VND. After eating, we continued walking back toward the homestay but stopped by another minimarket along the way. There, I bought some Nabati mostly because I was bored and wanted something sweet to snack on.

At first, I had planned not to spend more money to save up. But then Ahza convinced me to buy *banh mi ga xe*. I hesitated at first, but… I gave in. So yeah, this officially became my most spendy day in Vietnam so far. We bought it as takeaway and planned to eat it in our room.

Long story short, we got back to the homestay and ate together. As usual, the *banh mi ga xe* tasted really good. After that, I just scrolled on my phone since there wasn’t anything specific to do until Asr.

After the Asr prayer, since I didn’t have cooking duty either, I decided to take another nap because I was tired and had nothing else to do. When I woke up, I took a shower and then relaxed while chatting with friends, waiting for Maghrib.

After Maghrib, we had our halaqah session. Once it finished, we had dinner. This time, for the first time, our main dish was chicken instead of eggs like the previous days. But since most of us weren’t very experienced in cooking, the result was… extremely salty chicken. Still, we ate it anyway.

After that, we performed the Isha prayer, and as usual, the night was spent opening our laptops, transferring files, and writing our daily journal. At around 9 PM, I decided to go to sleep.

Today might not have been the most special day, but it was still fun especially the yellow photo hunt and my “defeat” against the temptation to buy snacks
