On the second day, which was Monday, my group (Group 4) and I woke up at around 5:30 AM. We immediately performed the Fajr prayer, and after that, Mr. Malik asked us to gather with Groups 3 and 4 in Group 3’s room because Mr. Wisnu wanted to share something.
We gathered for about 10 minutes, then returned to our own rooms to take a shower and get ready. Around 9 AM, all groups from 3 to 5 were instructed to go to the homestay of Groups 1 and 2 to cook and have breakfast together.
At first, we were just hanging around with nothing much to do, until we were finally given permission to go out and buy snacks. I went out with Mumtaz, Dwi, and Fathir. The four of us immediately headed out to find some food.
First, we bought Mixue Vietnam. I got a sundae for 25,000 VND. After that, we noticed a pizza restaurant across the street and decided to check it out. We ordered a small Bolognese pizza for 59,000 VND.
While waiting for the pizza, it suddenly started raining heavily. Luckily, the seller was really kind and told us to go up to the second floor to wait and take shelter. About 10 minutes later, our pizza arrived. In my opinion, the taste was just average not really anything special.
After eating, we took a photo together with the seller. But the problem was, it was still raining heavily outside. In the end, we decided to just run through the rain. To make things worse, the alley leading back to our homestay was flooded, with water reaching slightly above our ankles. Still, we had no choice but to keep walking.
We dropped Dwi off at his homestay first, then Mumtaz, Fathir, and I continued to ours. It was actually in the same building, just on different floors and rooms. Once we got back, we immediately took showers and changed clothes because we were completely soaked.
After that, we were told to take a nap from 1 PM until Asr. After Asr, we were given free time again to go out and buy snacks until 5:30 PM. So, we went out once more to look for good food.
Eventually, we found a Vietnamese dish called *banh mi ga xe*. It’s a sandwich filled with shredded chicken and topped with cheese. It tasted really good definitely one of my favorite foods so far in Vietnam. After that, we stopped by Mixue again before heading back to the homestay.
At night, we didn’t go out anymore. We stayed at the homestay, opened our laptops to transfer photos, and wrote about our day. Around 10 PM, we went to sleep, ending our second day in Hanoi with fun and unforgettable experiences.
