The tenth day was a very special day because we visited the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Hanoi. Before leaving, it was also my turn to cook breakfast for everyone in our building, just like on Day 6. This time, I chose to make fried eggs with rice because it was simple, affordable, and quick to prepare.
After breakfast, we went to the embassy using Xanh SM, a transportation service that is similar to GoCar in Indonesia.
When we arrived at the Indonesian Embassy, we were warmly welcomed by the Indonesian staff who work there. They shared interesting information about the relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam. One fact that I learned was that both Indonesia and Vietnam became independent in 1945.
The staff were very kind and friendly. They also served us some Indonesian-style snacks, such as pastel, macaroni schotel, and a pandan cake. I am not sure of the exact name of the pandan snack, but I had seen and eaten similar food in Indonesia before. Eating familiar snacks in another country made the visit even more memorable for me.
After our visit to the embassy, we went to McDonald's near Trang Tien Plaza for lunch because it was not far from the embassy. After lunch, we returned to our accommodation to rest and continued writing our travel journals for the immersion program.
