Day 27โ€“28 (Saturday, August 22, 2026 โ€“ Sunday, August 23, 2026)

On Saturday, we prepared to move to another country: THAILAND!!!!

Since I had already packed most of my things on Friday, I didn't have that much left to pack today. I only had to put in the clothes that were still wet from the day before. So, my morning was mostly spent cleaning up and finishing some of my packing.

After that, I went to buy some supplies for our journey to Thailand. I went to NO BRAND and bought some snacks and sliced bread because our teachers recommended bringing those kinds of food for the journey.

After that, I had breakfast. I bought some Samyang noodles because I was already really hungry and didn't feel like looking for somewhere else to eat.

Then I went back home to pack the food and prepare some water for the journey.

Around 11 a.m., I went out again because I was hungry, so I went to 7-Eleven and bought a burger.

After that, we prayed Dhuhr. Once we finished praying, we all waited to leave for the train station because we were going to Thailand by train.

We left at around 2:45 p.m., and the journey to the station took about half an hour.

When we arrived, we had a briefing first to prepare for immigration. After the briefing, we were given some free time because our train was at 6:25 p.m., and we couldn't go through immigration until around 5 p.m.

So, from around 4 p.m., we were free.

Since I hadn't eaten lunch yet, I decided to eat at the station. I didn't have much Lao money left, so I could only buy instant noodles again.

After eating, I lined up for immigration and filled out the departure card. After that, the immigration process was pretty normal. They checked our passports and did all the usual procedures.

Then we entered the waiting area for the train.

By the way, the train we were taking was a third-class economy train, which was basically the lowest class. The seats were upright, and there was only a fan instead of air conditioning.

Not long after waiting, the train finally arrived and we could get on.

I sat next to Kenzie, while Dwi and Fatir Muda were sitting in front of us.

This seemed to be a non-air-conditioned train, and it was also the first international train I had ever taken. So, honestly, it wasn't very comfortable, but at the same time, I was excited.

But whatever, we were already there, so we just got on.

Not long after we got on, the train started moving.

At first, I thought we would just stay on the train all the way to Bangkok. But after we crossed the bridge into Thailand, we had to go through another immigration checkpoint.

While we were on our way to Thai immigration, I had already opened one of my snacks.

I kind of regretted it because I still had a really long journey ahead of me, but it was already open, so I just ate it.

The immigration process took quite a while. They checked our passports, inspected our luggage, and stamped our passports.

I think it took around two hours.

After finishing immigration, we waited for around another 45 minutes for our train because there were also some checks that had to be done on the train.

After that, we got back on the train and continued our journey to Bangkok.

And the train journey took around 17 hours.

Yes, 17 hours.

Seventeen hours sitting on an upright seat, without air conditioning.

Eventually, we arrived at Krung Thep Aphiwat Station at around 7:30 a.m.

After arriving, we waited for our teachers to buy MRT tokens because we still had to use several types of transportation to reach our accommodation.

We took the MRT from Phahon Yothin to Phetchaburi, and from Phetchaburi, we took the Saen Saep Boat Service to Ramkhamhaeng.

We ended up in eastern Bangkok, and there were a lot of Muslim and Malay people in the area.

When we first arrived, we gathered at Jamiul Islam Mosque because our teachers needed to check in at the accommodation first.

We waited at the mosque for around half an hour.

After the teachers finished checking in, we were told to go to the accommodation to organize our things.

After getting everything sorted out, we prayed Dhuhr.

Once we finished praying, we were allowed to explore the area around us until Asr.

For my first exploration, I went out to the main road and tried some local food.

Basically, the main purpose of exploring that afternoon was to find lunch.

For lunch, I bought grilled chicken for 55 baht.

After that, I bought a smoothie and spent the rest of my time just exploring the area.

Later, we gathered at the mosque again.

My group was allowed to make a short phone call, and after that, we prayed Asr.

After Asr, I went outside to explore again.

The food I tried that afternoon was mango sticky rice.

After that, I just continued exploring the area.

Then, for Maghrib, we gathered at the mosque again.

After praying, we had a halaqah session until Isha.

After Isha, I went to a cafรฉ near the place where I bought the mango sticky rice.

At around 8:45 p.m., I went back to the accommodation, cleaned myself up, and went to sleep.
